Properly dispose of unwanted and expired medication on Saturday

When was the last time you cleaned out your medicine cabinet? Having old medication in the cabinet is a source of drug overdoses, but getting rid of them needs to be done properly or the medicine will end up in the drinking supply or a landfill. This Saturday, the Drug Enforcement Administration is making it easy to dispose of old medication safely.

Local agencies across the country will take your medicine from 10 AM to 2 PM as part of the National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day.

During the last even in April, a record-breaking 552,161 pounds of unwanted and expired medication was disposed of properly.
